I love to read about new jobs in Mesa Arizona.  SDI is bringing 175 jobs to Mesa.  I am doing a happy dance!

The Simi Valley, California-based company Special Devices Inc. (SDI) will break ground on a 64,000-square-foot assembly building this March. More buildings could also be built on the East Valley land.

Special Devices Inc. is a Japanese-owned company, it has broken ground on a new $25 million airbag manufacturing plant in Mesa.  SDI’s current Mesa plant will also keep operating.

Special Devices Inc. already has an airbag plant in Mesa. It bought an adjacent 19.6 acres of land near Greenfield Road and the Loop 202 freeway last month for $5.5 million.  The new plant will employ 175 workers and the expansion will be completed in early 2016.

SDI makes other automotive parts, medical devices and industrial components. It also has operations in Japan and Thailand.
