  3. JOBS JOBS JOBS!!! Apple is bringing jobs to Mesa

Days before President-elect Donald Trump is sworn into office as the 45th President of the United States of America, Apple heeded the 70-year old billionaire’s request to bring back jobs to Americans. And the first recipients of these job openings are the people living near Mesa, AZ, and those who are willing to relocate nearby.

Apple Applies for Foreign Trade Zone

As reported by Business Insider, “Apple is seeking permission to conduct ‘high tech manufacturing’ and to build data center server gear in a Mesa, Arizona facility, according to a notice published by the U.S. Federal Government on Monday.” The application was filed by the City of Mesa Office of Economic Development to the Foreign Trade Zone Board, on behalf of Apple Inc.

According to the notification posted on Federal Register, “Apple already has authority to produce certain components for consumer electronics within Subzone 221A. The current request would add finished products and foreign status materials/components to the scope of authority.

Current provisions prevent Apple from paying duty free rate for the products, materials and/or components that would be under the roof of this facility. Should Apple’s application be approved, “Production under FTZ procedures could exempt Apple from customs duty payments on the foreign-status materials/components used in export production.”

Job Generating Move

In addition, Apple will be given an option to choose custom duty rates on materials and/or components, which will be made available within the U.S. territory. More importantly, customs duties could either be deferred, or reduced. This would greatly help Apple lower its production cost while creating more jobs to hundreds, even thousands of unemployed Americans in nearby areas of Mesa, AZ.

As suggested by WCCFTech.com, “The Free Trade Zone which Apple has applied for will exempt the company from import/export duties. This creates jobs in the United States and lets corporations save money paid for customs.”

Perhaps Donald Trump may consider bringing some of his companies and factories back to the US, as well.
