Gold Canyon is a small community located near Mesa Arizona and home to about 12,000 residents. Sometimes referred to as Gold Camp, the closest major city is Apache Junction. A fun little tidbit about Gold Canyon is that it was the filming location for the Three Amigos and Blind Justice.

This well-maintained unincorporated community in Pinal County is about 45 minutes east of the Phoenix airport. It’s an upscale community yet has several affordable home neighborhoods. It sits at the base of the Superstition Mountain Wilderness and offers thousands of square miles for hiking, bike riding, horseback riding, and other outdoor sports. It has 518 hole championship golf courses and most of the homes were built since 2000.

There’s a variety of single-family homes, two-story designs, condominiums, and patio homes as well as custom-built luxury homes in private gated communities. Most residents are within 10 minutes of shops and restaurants such as Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, Kohl’s, restaurants, markets, and more. There are medical doctors and clinics in and around Gold Canyon as well as nearby hospitals just 20 to 30 minutes from most communities in Gold Canyon. This community is made up of year-round residents as well as seasonal snowbirds that make this area home during the cooler winter months. So much so that population nearly doubles between November and March.
