It’s home to about 15,000 residents and is an active adult community with five country club communities in three different homeowner associations. These include the gated communities of Oakwood in Ironwood or Iron Oaks and the gated and non-gated communities of Palo Verde and Cottonwood. There’s one other non-gated community of Sun Lakes 1. The entire Sun Lakes master-planned community was built by Robson communities founded by Ed Robson.
